Gnowangerup is a small farming community located in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia, approximately 150 kilometres north of Albany and around 350 kilometres south east of Perth. The Shire of Gnowangerup consists of three towns Gnowangerup, Ongerup and Borden which have a total population of under 1300 people.  The Shire is mainly a farming community however, the Gnowangerup town site also hosts a number of light industrial businesses as well as retail businesses, post office, hospital doctor’s surgery and small supermarket.

The Shire has recently built a new swimming pool and in season 2016/17 has sought ways to increase patronage through supporting new activities and initiatives in its first season of operation.  SynchroWA and the Shire have supported the development of the newly established Gnowangerup Synchronised Swimming Club which is the first Synchronised swimming club located in a regional area of Western Australia.

Gnowangerup Synchronised Swimming Club sessions commenced in February 2017 and are currently taking expressions of interest for enrollments for the 2017/8 season.

We hope to welcome Gnowangerup Club Swimmers to the WA State Competition later in the year and are currently seeking sponsorship to assist with travel costs.
