Perth – September 2021 – SynchroWA welcomes two new members to the Synchro WA Board. Recently retired elite swimmer and Olympian Hannah Cross and a seasoned volunteer of the sport, Lisa Galt.
Hannah Cross was appointed as an independent director, a position that was vacant on the Synchro WA Board. Hannah will offer a fresh new perspective which will be of immense value to the Board as we continue to work towards our vision; To make Artistic Swimming the sport of choice in WA.
Hannah is currently completing her business degree and working at Roy Hill, a company whose majority owner is our Patron, Mrs Gina Rinehart.
“I am excited to bring my knowledge of business/finance, as well as my relationship with Hancock Prospecting to help the Board create the best possible future for the Synchro WA community.”
Lisa Galt was appointed by the Board to replace elected director, Rose Stackpole who recently resigned due to her appointment as the State Coaching Director and High Performance Coach of Synchro WA.
Lisa is a retired Royal Australian Navy veteran, having served as a helicopter electrician for 20 years. Since her retirement she has been an active volunteer in the community and in artistic swimming since 2015.
Over time Lisa has become an artistic swimming Judge, Club President of SupaNova Synchronised Swimming Club and an occasional recreational Artistic Swimmer.
“My vision for the Artistic Swimming community is to ensure that the wider community becomes more aware of our sport, and to encourage them to join and grow the membership in all the clubs in Western Australia.”
“I am also passionate about enhancing the skills of our current and upcoming coaches to ensure the quality and viability of training for years to come.”
